Bottle at home in London - picked up at BarleyWine in Copenhagen in May 2012. Pours perfectly clear copper-gold with a fine, creamy tan head. Aroma holds ripe, semi-dark fruits such as dates, golden raisins and figs, along with dry caramel and rich bread. Big sweet flavor but not overly cloying, dried fruits, a bit of boozy punch, some orange, apple, caramel, fig, plum. Full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Moderate warmth to finish, plenty of toffee, fruit cake, golden raisins, dates, some ripe citrus, bread. Very tasty barley wine. It has aged gracefully.

0.25l bottle from 2D2Dspuma, Barcelona. This is a light blurry, deep dark amber-brown one with a small sidesticking ald lacing off-white head. Lovely sweetness on the aroma with lots of sweet raisins, dates and general over ripe sweet fruits. Sticky sweet malty caramel and a suitable little alcohol tone mixing it all together. Smells like a barley wine should smell. Oh, it's heavy - almost shocking heavy actually - on the carbonation. Tiny small prickling bubbles that almost explodes in the mouth, really full-bodied with a thick sticky mouthfeel. Lovely sweet and fruity flavors in here. Tons of ripe fruits, dates, figs and raisins with a strong caramel-sweetness. It has that "purple" flavor this. Not often I find that in beers anymore, but this one makes me thing of purple. Lovely tasty, and it gives you just the correct subtle hint of warming alcohol in the finish and aftertaste. A great sipper and just generally really good stuff! 11.10.2012

Bottle @ home. Pours dark reddish brown with a fading offwhite head. Aroma of malt, wood, chocolate notes, caramel, booze. Flavor is sweet with malts, caramel, wood, brown sugar. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, alcohol pretty well hidden. Nice, allthough not the most complex barley wine. 300812

Bottled. Deep amber colour, mediumsized creamy beige head, which lasts for quite a while. Aroma is alcohol, mild glue, some sweet malts and fruits. Flavour is rather smilar, but not that offensive. Fullbodied.

330ml bottle at Ørsted Ølbar, thanks to kschep for sharing. Clear dark brown body, bright naked surface. Bready malts and dusty hops to the nose. Raisin and plums in flavour alongside bready malts. Oily palate. Ok sipper, very sweet, though (Copenhagen, 09.05.2012).

25cl bottle @ home [bottle from trade with Fonefan]. Hazy red color with a decent sized off-white to beige head that diminishes quite quickly but leaves a good lacing. Smell sweetness, some malts, some alcohol and dried or overripe fruits. Taste malts, raisin, overripe and dried fruits, lightly grapes, some alcohol. Medium body, low to medium carbo.
