Kentucky Ale® is described as a marriage between two classic beer styles, Irish Red Ale and English Pale Ale. With a light amber color, Kentucky Ale owes its body and character to select imported malts and a pinch of wheat malt for a rich, smooth taste.

Light amber in color, Kentucky Ale owes its unique body and character to select imported malts and a pinch of wheat malt for a rich, smooth taste.
The unique body and character of Kentucky Ale is heavily influenced by the water, drawn from aquifers in the limestone rock underlying the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky.

12oz bottle. Filtered copper-tan color. Thin, soda-like head. Mellow vanilla tinged aroma. On the lighter side of medium-bodied, quite sessionable. Cream soda, mild malt tones. Some mild spiciness, certainly no Pacific Northwest hop tones. Some buttery toffee tones. The wheat adds a nice breadiness. Not bad, but rather bland and uninspired.

On tap at the vintage estates. Big creamy foamy head yet no visible carbonation. Mild and friendly aroma. Initially it comes across rather leathery and mild. interesting evolution of flavors. Mild CO2. Not bad, goes down fairly easy. Finish is well behaved.

Bottle from Utobeer. Clear orange amber colour with a thin near white head. Some toffee and nutty caramel aroma. Sweetish aroma with some dryness too. Maybe not a fresh bottle, maybe this is supposed to taste like an empty slightly malty water drink. Just a dull uninteresting beer.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear amber with small tight white head. Not much lacing, highly carbonated, and aroma is light sour. Taste is metallic corn, some toffee/caramel, and some grass. Disapointing compared to their bourbon barrel ale.

Bottle from Ashland Beverage Center. The beer is a clear yellow-amber color with a thin and foamy white head that disappears quickly. Thin strings of lacing. Mild malt and caramel aroma. Light body with with sweet grain, malt and fruit flavors. Just a hint of hops bitterness in the background. The finish is short with a sweet malt aftertaste. Barely average overall.

12 oz bottle from acknud! Nose of caramel, and grain, with a light vanilla and fruity pear note in the background; dark gold with a small off-white head; flavor has a bit of fruitiness, toffee, and a tiny buttery note. Cool bottle cap with a horses head on top! Maybe it’s brewed by the Godfather!
