Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Cheers to Kenny. Pours clears brown with a frothy, tan head. Ground coffee in the nose, earth, light roast. Light to medium sweet flavour with earthy bitterness, toasted brown bread, coffee, moderate bitterness, light dry cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Lightly tangy, semi dark malts in the finish, decent coffee character, more earth, dusty cocoa. Fair.

Craft Clerkenwell. Martin T tasting. Clear dark brown beer, good size pale cream coloured head. Light palate, softish and a little dry. Insipid dark malt. Slight lactose. Mild fruits. Semi dry airy finish. Overall insipid but not terrible.

Bottle at the Martin T tasting, CBC 06/06/13 - thanks to Ken is my guess!?! Bottle however states 7% not 5.5!?! Murky dark mahogony brown with a thin off white head that clears to the edge. Nose is light roast, mineral notes, espresso roast although a little subdued compared to most coffee infused beers I’ve come across. Taste comprises a good level of espresso roast, brown sugars, light cocoa, roast malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry roasted finish. Ok drinkable stout but lacks a little overall in terms of flavour profile.

Litt flat, kunne vært fyldigere. Kaffesmaken er heldigvis ikke overdøvende, men likevel tydelig. Alt i alt et bra øl, men neppe en schlager.

0.5l bottle that says 7% abv. This is a deep dark brown one with a medium sized chocolate top that's leaving nice lacings down the glass. It has an aroma filled with chocolate and coffee. Sweet from the chocolate and light acidic from the roasted malts and the coffee. Some dry chocolate powder as well. Perhaps a bit one dimensional, but not bad at all. The taste is quite out there on the sweet side. Feels a bit watery and thin in the mouth and it's soft to average on the carbonation. Soft watery chocolate mainly in the taste. Some dark sweet caramel also, sweet chocolate buttery- biscuits, subtle sweet licorice tones, some cold thin coffee from a dispenser machine before it ends in with a nice hoppy bitterness in the finish. Decent, not to challenging but perhaps a tad to sweet for my fine taste buds. 10.10.2012

From a 500ml bottle on 24/12/2012 (shared with Butz). Pours very close to black with a small head. The aroma is strong and pretty much all coffee. The flavour is, not surprisingly, dominated by more coffee, with lots of chocolate and some mild roasty notes. Both the bitterness and body are medium. This is a really enjoyable, very well put together coffee stout. It actually reminds me a bit of Peche Mortel, which (from me) is very high praise.

50cl bottle (7%) from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Black with a beige head. Roasted aroma with chocolate and coffee and hints of caramel, dark fruits and hops. Less sweet than expected, very pleasant, but mild flavours and a nice dry and bitter finish. Well balanced and a pleasant surprise. Wouldn’t mind drinking more of this. Very pleasant and goes down surprisingly easy.
