Black with a light brown head - Very nice hoppy aroma stight away along with some hints of roasted malt and coffee - good malt body with some roasted notes, licorice, coffee and a nice bitterness that lingers for a long time in the finish, along with some alcohol warmth in the back - this was really good

Pours deep brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, chocolate, citrus and grape. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long caramel, fruity and bitter finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

500ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Dense beige head with a solid stand leaving rings of lace behind. Coal black body. Inviting aroma of earthy, dark malts and herbal hops. Rich taste character of dark fruits, anise, coffee grounds and nutty fruits, as well as herbs and spices. All ingredients are well blended giving way to a rounded, bittersweet ending. Enjoying on a late Saturday evening at home in Tromsø, 26.05.2012).

Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Langnes. Drukket hjemme 18 Mai 12. Dyp amber. Høyt lysebrunt luftig skum. Står som betong. Herlig aroma av ymse frukt & nøtter. Litt søt. Smaken er søt frukt & litt mandler med innslag av lakris. Syrlig bitter ettersmak. Fin balanse. Alkoholen godt integrert.

Bottle from Barley Wine, Copenhagen. Semi clear dark brown beer. Big pale tan head. Palate is light, a little soft and a little dry. Sweet toffee caramel malt. Mild piney hops. Semi dry finish. Nice beer - could just do with a little more aggression in the hops.

50cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours black with a beige head. Hoppy aroma with roasted malt, chocolate, hops and a hint of coffee. Sweet and fruity with a nice chocholaty and citrussy flavour. Pleasantly bitter finish with warming alcohol. Very pleasant BIPA!

Sampled from 0.5l bottle @ Beer Enthusiast release party. This one pours a dark deep cola-colored body with a medium sized bubbly chocolate head. I get tons of butter and wet cardboard in the aroma - unfortunately. Also some coffee and perhaps some chocolate as well, but a bit to far out on the sweet path this. Flavors: At first I get some mild sour flavors, it has a nice and almost creamy texture with a soft carbonation level. Better in the flavor. Much better! Roasted with a cool cold coffee touch here. I also get lot's of warming alcohol. Nice and tasty flavors, but the buttery caramel aroma did not make my day. 23.04.2012

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.1%, 186 IBU, 71 EBC.
Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Large and lasting beige head. Delightful aroma of American hops, notes of citrus (incl. orange marmalade) and tropical fruits, also pine, hints of coffee. The flavour is medium sweet with notes of chocolate and mild coffee, but first and foremost well hopped, with citrussy and resinous hops throughout. The bitterness is, however, not as extreme as I feared , but solid enough. Another fine beer from Midtfyns and home brewer Claus Christensen.
