Devil’s Milk is an American-style Barley Wine. This beer exhibits a wealth of fruit flavors, from pears to plums to raisins. Devil’s Milk is dry hopped (hops added after fermentation) for a strong bite that balances its big malt backbone. Served in a snifter glass because of the high abv, barley wines are perfect as a relaxing “after-dinner” drink or nitecap.

Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 Beers this beer poured an orange-brown color with a medium sized creamy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was strong pine, resin and a touch of citrus. The flavor was tangy and sweet caramel, bread, bitter pine, a bit of orange and cactus. Long sweet pine and resin finish. Full body - syrupy. Quite nice.

On draft at the Mad Fox Barley Wine Festival, Falls Church VA. 2012 vintage. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Surprisingly hoppy aroma. Some toffee and caramel, nice balanced with the citrus hops. Bitter finish hides the alcohol.

Very sweet flavor rife with toffee, fruits, malt, caramel. Awesomeish. Full bodied with average carbonation. Mildly warming finish with moderate bitterness, sweet brown sugar and caramel.
