A still dry cider available in 500ml bottles and on draught.

Golden Valley Cider takes its name from the small corner of Herefordshire where cider has been made in the traditional way for centuries. Local apples are pressed and the juice transferred into oak barrels where it is left to mature naturally in the time honored way. The romantic Age of Steam and olde-worlde agriculture may be long gone but here at least the Golden Taste of Real Cider still lives on.

Bottle from The Hop Pocket, Bishops Frome, Herefordshire, consumed at home 25.09.10 Pours warm gold with medium carbonation. This has a real farmhouse character, wonderfully rough and tart and an absolute contrast to the standard Gwatkin Golden Valley cider just consumed. I wish I knew how a scrumpy was differentiated from a standard cider, its lovely but coarse, dry but tart mmhhh.. it would go well with a bit quality of cheddar. Good stuff. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1
