330 ml bottle, batch #029, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Moderately hazy brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, berries, yeast and farmhouse kitchen, hints of caramel and brittle. Fizzy mouthfeel - not extreme, but too much for an old ale. Flavour with the same elements as the aroma, some roasty notes, earthy bittering hops in the finish. Not a favourite of mine.

Bottle from Det Gode Brygg. Clear amber body under a god looking, big, stable tan head. Not very strong, but solid aroma of malt, toast, bread and some caramel. Taste is sweet and malty with toast, caramel, raisins and moderate bitterness. Well balanced body for the moderate alcohol strength and pleasant aftertaste. A pleasant surprise, was actually not prepared for something remotely close to an Old Ale flavor here.

0,33 flaske fra Fristeriet i Lars Hertervigsgate, hjemme: endelig en velkomponert maltdrevet øl som smaker øl og ikke frokostjuice! Karamell, nøtter, røde bær og hint av ristet brød. Upåklagelig utseende, men litt overkarbonert. Fin bitterhet som lar maltprofilen skinne, og samtidig skaper en saftig ettersmak. More of this, please!
