200ml on tap at Schouskjelleren. One-finger, foamy head, fawn-coloured, covering a near-black body. Smoked malty aroma with hints of bitter fruits. Tart and smoked flavour added by a bite of cold coffee. Dry on the swallow. Comfortable, if not quite there (Oslo, 12.12.2011).

Fra fat på Olympen, Oslo 1 Nov 11. Kullsort. Lavt mokkafarget kremaktig skum som fester seg til glasset. Behagelig sjokolade & lakrisaroma med undertone av røyk. Mer røyk - og sjokolade i smaken. Fin bitter vri i ettersmaken. Litt for mye kullsyre.

Draught@Mikkeller Bar (Aug 8th, 2011). Very deep brown colour (close to black), mediumsized creamy beigeish brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, some slight ashes and chocolate. Flavour is smoked wet wood, some coffee, chocolate, mild roasted notes as well as some ashy notes. Some slight interesting sweetish sour notes in it as well. Pleasantly balanced and perfectly drinkable.

Very dark, black color. Smell is really smoked, really roasted. Kind of sour campfire smell, little over the top if you ask me. Influences the taste as well. Average carbonation.

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm, 17 June 2011) Black colour with frothy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with smoke, dark bread, coffee, tar, warm asphalt and cocoa. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, dark rye bread, tar and pine needles in a fairly bitter finish. More than medium body, quite dry. Quite intense with lots of chocolate and coffee, and with smoke just giving it an extra dimension and not taking over the whole show. Very tasty and nice.

Bottle at ACBF. Clear dark brown beer, no real head. Crisp palate, a little dry. Mildly smoky dark malt. Trace of chocolate. Dry finish, smoke still going on. Some tangy malt too. Alright!

On tap at ACBF 2011. Deep black in the glass, small head. Heavy malty aroma. Starts intense malty, more and more smoky, also some earthy-rusty notes. Well balanced soft-malty finish. Nice!
