22 oz bottle shared this with liveFREEorRYE on 10/ 23/ 2010. I’m really glad I made the stop at Julio’s in Westboro, MA. Aroma is a woody bourbon barrel smell. A ton of head that just wont go away, with ridiculous lacing, literally just covers the glass. A butter popcorn fragrance. Up front is a bourbon wood taste(possibly oak wood) a raisin flavor in the center. The finish tastes exactly like movie theater butter popcorn. Has a nice creamy mouth feel that is not too thick yet very rich. A truly unique beer that should be sipped and enjoyed SLOWLY. We let this sit about 20 minutes as it warms the bourbon barrel boozy taste comes through and gets stronger. A complex beer that I could rate 10 times and get different flavors every time I drink it. A very good beer to hold and cherish. Put one in your cellar! I’m going to get a few more bottles and let them age.

One of the most interesting beers Ive ever had, smells and tastes like liquid gold butter. Definitely one to share however, as a single bomber might be a little too much for one person. I got a little sick of it after awhile, the last 1/2 pint was a chore. One of those tastes that is so delicious right off the bat and is really good, but then starts to get annoyingly sweet. Very smooth and thick, I dont think the head dissipated at all through the entire process. Really good one to share, and enjoy with a few other people.

Dog Days of Summer Gathering, thanks growler. copper,t an. aroma, woot woot, bourbon goodness, loads of caramel, malty, rye and butterscotch/vanilla and oak wood. flavors, caramel malts, barrel is definitely more present here than anticipated in the nose, rye is mild adding just enough thickness to the palate and mild spices. A nice beer, good use of the Buffalo Trace that at times seems to overtake most of the other elements of this beer.

22oz bottle pours a transparent, copper amber with a thin, creamy beige head. Smells like cherries, vanilla, wood pulp, butterscotch. Flavor is caramel, milk chocolate, vanilla, wood, malts. Finish is a touch hot and a touch astringent.

Bottle shared by Sean at the 2010 Summer Solstice. Poured a cloudy amber brown with an off-white head that dissipated quickly to the edge. Aroma had notes of sweet bread, caramel and rye. Flavor was similar with the rye being more of an undertone and caramel being to more present note.
