500ml bottle from Scrattings. 5.0%. Batch C70 18. Clear orange gold colour, no lasting head and aroma of apples, funk, alittle vanilla. Taste is tangy apple, fruity, slightly tart, bittersweet with funky, horseblanket, oaky, vanilla notes and soft tannins. Medium bodied, low carbonation, medium-dry finish. Quite drinkable.

500ml bottle, takeout from The Fighting Cocks, Oakengates. Pours clear copper, no head. Still. Taste is smooth and clean. Smooth fruity apple character leading to a dry finish. A touch of vanilla but altogether not too complex.

Bottle form Bristol Cider Shop. Pale gold in colour and flat. As Fin notes, this was a country mile away from being medium dry. Aroma of sweet fruit and icing sugar. Light mouth feel, with plenty more sugar, a trace of woodiness and spice, followed by a honeyed, medium finish. Too sweet for me.

Bottle that Isobel (Loz’s mum) kindly picked up for me at The Hop Pocket shop, Herefordshire (think?) consumed 10.08.10 Pours pale gold, crystal clear and with just a few stray bubbles showing, its a good looker. This may say medium dry but it’s anything but, really quite sweet but very nice. Plenty of honey amongst the apples, and maybe a touch of floralness though I could be being bamboozled by the name on that one. Easy to get on with cider that will appeal to many.
