Shared bottle at RBNAG 2011, ABV 6.1%. Bronze colour. Well hopped aroma and flavour. This is a nice strong ale in a "typically English" style, well balanced between the malts and hops: Very good. This is a kind of beer I always appreciate - even in the course of a long tasting with lots of beers.

Bottle, 6.1%. Caramelly aroma with a distinct spicy hop note, also rather rough. Almost clear dark copper colour. Good stable tan head. The flavour starts off sweetish and caramelly with more of the aforementioned spicy hop. Nice enough, but unfortunately there is also a rather unpleasant note of spent grain and rough bitterness

Bottle, courtesy of Papsoe. It’s a clear, amber beer with a very low head. Quite fruit on the nose, but peaches, dried fruits, some alcohol notes and a malty touch. Sweet, malty flavor with some fresh and dried fruits. Full body. A rather boring one, lacks a bit on complexity all the way. Rating: 6-3-5-3-11-2.8. 110129
Bottle. A clear, amber beer with a lacings producing off-white head. Lots of fruity, spicy hops on the nose, slightly piney, dusty too. Some caramel maltyness and a yeasty, doughy hint. Nice bitterness in the flavor, caramel maltyness and breadyness as a backdrop. Full body, semi-sweet. A bit hard on the carbonation. This time I got a much better impression than the first time I tasted it. A quite tasteful beer that I probably will buy again. 110624

0,5 l. bottle from the supermarket. Clear red-brown colour, small, only shortlived off-white head. Nice hoppy aroma with lightly roasted malts and caramel. Pleasant bitter, hoppy flavour with lightly roasted malts and caramel. Pleasent finish, however a bit short. Good price - taste ratio.
