Each year, our Coopers brewing team sets out to create a bespoke Vintage Ale. The 2024 release is characterised by a curated blend of three hop varieties and a foundational malt bill. Aromas and flavours are provided by international hops; Solero (Germany), BRU-1 (USA) and emerging EXP 09326 (USA). This beer begins bursting with tropical fruit aromas, such as pineapple, mango and passionfruit, thanks to Solero and BRU-1. It follows with citrus and herbal notes from EXP 09326, a hop with Cascade lineage. On the palate, this full-bodied ale reveals complex berry, spice, and melon characters, balanced by a moderate bitterness that leaves a lingering finish. Enjoy it fresh, or age it under cellar conditions to let the malty notes develop further over time.

0.355 l bottle from 'SpeciaalBierPakket.nl', 2024 vintage. A bit hazy, deep reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, rather fruity, gently resiny aroma of mango, orange, tobacco and pine. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, rather fruity and slightly resiny taste of grapefruit, orange jam, mango, pine and tobacco, followed by a medium long, quite bitter finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. I expected something like an ESA but this leans towards West Coast DIPA territory. Actually quite nice!

Test to see if I can add a batch. Bottle. Bronze with a 2cm off white head. Aroma of of strong bread, marmalade, weeds, hints of pine. Any tropical notes are gone already. Perhaps there are hints in the taste, but it's mainly cooked grapefruit and weeds; dryish with bread, Coopers yeast. Firm bitterness. Still old fashioned and good.
