Handpull cask at the Pharmacie Arms, Syston. Dark, almost brownish gold, takes ages and does not quite settle. Full creamy beige head. Fruity, malty, slightly buttery aroma. Bittersweet taste with big bittering hops shoving aside the fruit and malt flavours. Notes of kumquat, apple. Finish is quite bitter. Medium texture with soft carbonation. Didn't like it much at first but I got used to and even sort of liked it. In a way.

Bottle - a Christmas present. Aroma combines bready malts with sweet citrus. Clear copper gold. Thick foamy white head. Malty cardboard and veg with a citrus edge. However there's also a very sugary seam throughout. Light-medium bodied. Thin if slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. The sweet and sour just don't do it for me - just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 5/12/2022. Golden in colour, with a thin, white, head. Sweetish stone fruit, bittering hops, hay, rich tea malts, and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Bottle from the Shops at Dartington. Appearance - golden with a nicely proportioned head. Nose - creamy and almost lightly cheesey. Some grassiness. Taste - still a touch of cheese plus grassiness again. Palate - creamy and light bodied. Dry but somehow not refreshing. Overall - not sure it's in quite the condition the brewer would've hoped.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of caramel, faint lemon. Taste is more of the same, plus a soapy note. Thin finish.

Cask, half-pint on 17th July 2018 in The Lamb, Sandford, Devon. Light golden body, white crown. Citrus notes in the nose, floral touch too in the aroma. Subtle citrus flavour on a bed of pale maltiness, drying finish.

Cask at the Bull and Blacksmith, Chillington, Devon. Gold with a white head. Floral aroma. Mild citrus in the flavour. A light, refreshing brew, pleasant enough but maybe a little bland by the end.

Half pint, cask at Richard Hopkins (JDW). Nitro white head, clingy lacing, near-golden body. Ripe lemony hops on the nose. Mixed taste of grass, grain and lemony hops. Fair bitter endnotes. Quite alright. (Newton Abbot 28.04.2017).

Bottle at home, 25/08/16. Golden orange pour with a light haze and a few floaties being offered, decent off white head, would be a 4 but for the floaty friends. Nose is thinnish, toasted grains, pale malts, straw, lemon rind. Taste comprises orange peel, straw, light bread, toasted malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with moderate bitterness. Average golde ... lacks flavour profile.
