23/01/2016 - 33cl bottle shared with my brother-in-law @ his friend’s place. Hazy orange golden with nice white head. Seems a typical dull tripel but somehow it tastes somewhat different or better than most. Some grains, some cake, than some refreshing citrus, spices. Good carbonation. Not bad at all.

Contract brewed tripel for Ronse, with yellowish white, thinnish but sticky head and warm peach blond colour, orange hue, hazy. Fresh, green hops in the nose, celery, grapes, tomato, grapefruit, pepper, bread, some gin-like alcohol. Dryish malty taste with fruity accents, lively and assertive hop bitterness playing with the sweetish touches like a cat plays with a mouse. Alcohol, though somewhat apparent in the aroma, surprisingly stays well hidden in the mouth. I liked this tripel a lot, this is indeed a very fine example of the style.

2/I/14 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 19/IV/15 (2014-8)

Clear deep orange beer, big creamy irregular white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: orange peel, some citrus, sugary, cake or cookie dough. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sourish, citrus, bitter hops, fruity notes, some overripe fruits, malty, honey. Aftertaste: some almond cookies, bit lemony, sugar, somewhat bitter, nice dry ending, slightly fruity. Deep down, I'm a still a chauvinist Belgian that likes a good Belgian style tripel, I guess.
