(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours nearly black with a small but thick pale rbown head that leaves lace. Aroma of semisweet chocolate bar, some toasty hazelnut, nice dark roasted grains with a cacao/coffee vibe, vanilla hints, deep dark caramel, lactose is complementary. Flavour is nice sweet dark chocolate, some nutella, bitter cacao, soft vanilla, all draped over a core of dark caramel, kind of fudgey ice cream vibes overall. Finishes semi dry with nutty cacao-infused roast grain bitterness and a little alcohol heat. Medium-full oily body with soft creamy carbonation. Outside of Bas-Canada, probably the best Quebecois pastry stout I've tried.
