Sampled at the DC Local Tasting a 750ml bottle pours a translucent cola brown with some wispy off white head. Nose is sweet, pitted fruit, some light spice, yeasty esters, a little banana. Flavor is sweet, lots of dark candfy sugar, a little smoke, almost like the candy sugar burnt in the bottom of the kettle, dates, malty, some light cola. Full bodied, sweet finish. Well balanced.

Bottle courtesy of Bruno at Toccalmatto, shared with tarheels86. Cloudy brown, large tan head with great retention. Aroma is slightly sour, slightly sweet, wood and vanilla. Great body, amazing complexity, no sweetness, dry finish. Delizioso!

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, spicy, sweet malt, light cacao, notes of licorice - star anis. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity, malty, spicy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20101219]
