From old notes. Vacation in England 2000. Bottle. Black colour. Big head. Aroma's of toffee, roast and honey. Retronasal: fruity, roasted, honey. Flavor was roasted, a bit harsh at first, but mellowing in time. Nice.

Cambridge Blue. Clear dark brown beer. Light semi dry palate. Low carbonation. Tangy malt. A little honey sweetness. Quite porter like really!

Cask (gravity) @ The 16th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2010, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear dark brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, honey and licorice notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. Good aroma but a bit borring flavor. [20100430]

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2010. Very very dark brown, lasting thin beige head. Now that’s my kinda stout, just a touch of sweetness to balance the good roasted malts. Very satisfying, could drink many pints of this. Dry finish. Good.

Cask at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge, 03-10-09 Pours very, very dark brown with an off white creamy head, there are some ruby glints in the bottom of the glass. There is a fruity tang to this. Its a touch sweet, but otherwise well crafted, fruity (plum skin?), nicely tangy. A7 A4 F6 P3 Ov13 3.3
