Cask at the Swan, Farnborough. Floral and malt aroma. Light chestnut. Creamy and bubbly white head. Light-mesium bitter. A tang to it. Citrus and berries. Underlying malt. Medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Decent lively bitter. Rock on.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - deep amber to red with a decent head. Nose - a hint of stewed apples. Taste - oranges and biscuits. Orange liqueur even. Bitter orange pith on the end. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry bitter finish. Overall - very interesting if a bit gnarly.

Cask at the Guildford Arms. 5%. Pours clear amber with a thick white head. Aromas of biscuit, faint orange, toffee. Taste is more of the same. Clean finish. Not bad, if not particularly exciting.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading at 5%. Attached to the Liberation American Brown Ale tap- it was only after intense pressure that the barman admitted they’d connected up the wrong barrel and it was actually this- damn ’Spoons. Turned out to be a lucky error though as it was a bit of a cracker. Poured deep gold with a thick white head. Lovely smooth and creamy caramel malts up front give a great mouthfeel. There’s a big spicy zing and sweet orange, passion fruit and melon after. Lovely stuff, but still annoyed at missing out a Jersey rate.

Cask@Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is bready and caramelly malts along with some crystal notes and wood, grass and some floral notes. Flavour is being quite similar along with some wood, dark dry fruits and mild spices.

Cask (Oliver Twist, Stockholm) - Amber in colour. Peach, passion fruit and malt in the aroma. Hoppy and slightly sweet taste with peach, passion fruit and tangy hops. Enjoyable.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 8 April 2011) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried apricots, orange and earthy hops. Fruity, malty taste with apricots, orange and slightly earthy hops in the finish. Rather light body, with balanced sweetness. Quite nice and highly drinkable.

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Bronze colour. Delicate bready spicy nose. Dry, soft, light and fresh. Salty and bready. Super drinkable, really well balanced.
