Half pint, cask ale, shared with Finn at Sir John Oldcastle. Wetherspoon Beer Festival, March 24. Tiny white head blanketing the glass, clear golden body. Moderate smell of grassy hops and grain. Ripe citrus flavours joined by grainy malts. Mid-dry ending with far away bitterness. Just alright, easy to drink, and a bit thin. (London, 16.03.2024).

Cask at Square Bottle, Chester. Pours golden yellow with a medium sized foamy off-white head and good lacing. There’s wseet malts in the aroma, plus some hints of floral hops. In the mouth it is noticeably watery, starting off sweet before a little bitterness creeps in. Flavour has marmalade with hints of citrus, grapefruit and bread crusts. A little more bitterness in the finish. It’s OK, but decidedly bland.

Cask at the Moon and Spoon (JDW), Slough. A well balanced and refreshing bitter, despite the low ABV. Pale gold with a clean looking white head; crisp citrus flavour, good body; and grapefruit bitterness to finish. Excellent.
