6.1/10 β€” Appearance 4 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 4 Overall 6.5
Dark brown coloured body with a thinnish tan and light brown head that fades quite quickly. Aroma of lactose, vanilla, oak, grain, anise, canella, allspice and a dose of chocolate noticeable near the end. Relatively light-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavours with a big dose of chocolate, lactose, oak and even light cherries with a heavier flavour from the alcohol and spices with a dose of anise and grain with a relatively strong and thinnish alcohol and earthy finish with some cognac and brandy noticeable at the very end. Aftertaste shows some alcohol, a ton of sugars from lactose and fruit flavours with a dash of spices like anise and allspice with some lighter touches of earth, peat and light oatmeal also come through. Overall, a fairly good smelling and tasting beer at first, but the thinness is a big factor as well as the complexity which draw away from this one entirely. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Pear Delicatessan in Seattle, Washington [state] on 18-February-2016 for US$5,40 sampled at home in Manassas, Virginia on 08-August-2018.

Beer #12 of 13 in blind tasting.
Notes getting even shorter than short. Decent. Muted acidity (???), slightly mineral. Overdone dark malts.
In the aggregate, slightly above average.

Bottle. Not expecting much here. Pours opaque black with a small brown head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving decent lacing. Aroma is a bit burnt, anise, cocoa, chocolate, roasted malts, molasses. Flavor is light sweet and medium bitter, lots of blackstrap molasses and roasty notes. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty solid straight impy.

22 Oz bottle pour split. Pours a near black color with a moderate head. Really fine coffee aroma with an aged feel to it. Medium to light body stout here with a really dry, wood like flavor finish. Overall a unique stout with good flavor. Good stuff

Bottle - Dark fruit, smoke and light cocoa. Jet black with a creamy brown head. Big start, liquorice, booze and roast malts. Really big beer, worthy of the Imperial.

Bottle from Legacy Liquor, Vancouver
Black color with generous brown compact head. The aroma is very interesting, tobacco, cigar, some ashes, bread. Good body strength, yet with a lean mouthfeel; the flavor is a bit chocolatey, but unfortunately is too much roasty and ashy, burnt coffee too; the bitterness level is high, and the final slightly salty.
A robust, roasty Imperial Stout.

22oz bomber poured into a snifter. Pours black with a half finger of dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and dark fruits. Taste is light bitter. Mostly coffee and dark chocolate with some fermented dark fruit. Full bodied with a thick texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, great. I would love to try an aged version.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a tan head. Aroma of oats, molasses, vanilla and light espresso. Flavour is a bit fruity, but it could be the combo of vanilla and molasses; there is a noticeable hop profile on the finish. Excellent.
