Summer Ale is a traditional American wheat beer with a crisp malted wheat flavor.
A lively brew, it’s a clean, cool, and refreshing light bodied ale, worthy of a relaxing afternoon in the sun. This brew is an ode to summer in Maine and pairs well with lobster, beaches and sunshine. This beer is best enjoyed outside with a lime wedge.

Clear golden coloured body with a slightly hazy glow and a very thin, half a centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of pale malt, alcohol, metal, lemons and a hint of sweetness. Light-bodied; Sharp taste of metal, malt, cardboard and a hint of light lemons. Aftertaste has a stronger herbal and grassy flavour, but the lemons and metallic flavours really come through. Aftertaste shows a lot of grassy and lighter notes with some good flavours and perhaps a bit too pungent and bitter, but not bad at all - still fairly light. Overall, a decent summer beer, not great, but not offensive or anything difficult to drink! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 24-October-2012 for US$0.99 sampled at home in Washington on 03-November-2012.

Had a few these out of my buddies fridge prior to his wedding. Pours dirty yellow with citrus and floral nose. Tastes of lemon, wheat, yeast, floral, and resin. A touch bland but on this 90degree day was pleasant enough

12 ounce bottle from Wegman’s Lake Manassas. Pours a clear golden with a thin creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of sweet malts with some faint wheat and faint hops. The taste is floral notes, candied fruits, cherries, pale malts, caramel, bitter hop finish. Thin-medium bodied, high carbonation. Decent.

Strong honey and minty hop nose. Hazy yellow, no head. Light malt, dry honey accents.. Overall pretty weak, but the flavor it has is nice, it just needs more of it. Come on Shipyard, double the malt and hops, you’ve got a good thing going. With the right level of intensity, this could taste downright crackety braggoty.

No way, a wheat ale? heheh, this is just an APA that’s trying to be an IPA. Clear yellow dull weak IPA backbone. Processed macro impressions. Wheat? Where’s the wheat? Some weird citrus background.
