Three Sisters Scottish Ale (4.2% abv) is a dark, fruity, refreshing ale that proves a perennial favourite, and is named after the dramatic range of mountains in Glencoe.
Chocolate Malt helps to give this beer its very attractive dark ruby colour, as well as contributing to some of the toasty and liquorice flavours in the beer.
However, a very large charge of whole-flower hops balances the dark malt character with an abundance of hop fruit flavours. These include dried and fresh fruit flavours as well as some more citrus tones not normally found in such a dark beer.
There’s enough ‘going on’ in Three Sisters to keep even the most demanding real ale aficionado happy, whilst the very approachable fruit makes this a popular drink across the board.

Cask (Fort William): Clear, amber coloured, off-white, lacing foam; distinctive fruity (raspberries and cinnamon) and toasted-malty nose; bitter flavour with a light acidity, light bodied; cinnamon again detctable in the bitter-fruity finish. Spicy, but a bit demanding...........

Cask gravity Kent beer festival. Mahogany colour with fruity malt nose of red/dark fruits. Caramel fruits in mouth but then the sharp hop finish throws this beer out of balance. Could be good, but the hop and malt need better intergratio n

Cask conditioned at NERAX 4/28/2005
Dark, caramel-auburn colored body, foamy white, well-retained head. Fruity nose, deep and expressive with plenty of sweet toffee. Caramel, berries, yeast and earthy malt notes. Very good from the first smell, and just as good while drinking. Or so I thought. Medium body, no wateriness, great malt extraction, hops not overdone.

[Cask at GBBF 2004] A deep red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty and the flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel - plain but OK.
