Cask at Tennents Bar during Ultimate glasgow tasting 1 Dec 07 after hours pub crawl, for years I thought this beer was Old Jack Ale hence the old notes: Poured a copper orange with very little off white head. Aroma was sweet of caramel malt. The aroma flowed straight into the caramel malt taste, had just enough bitterness in the end to keep it balanced.

Cask-conditioned at the Victoria, Clifton, Bristol 3/2/09. Orange coloured with no head. Very sweet, toffee aroma with some earthiness. Flavour was sweet also, with some spice and a strange savoury edge. reminded me of a clean, sanitised version of Blue Anchor Spingo Special. Ok.

From cask at Tennents. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Mild acidic yet also dark caramel malty aroma. Light note of overripe fruity flavours mixed with a solid caramel malty base flavour. Smooth caramel malty finish with a light bitterness showing through.

Cask at Tennent’s Bar, Glasgow. Amber colour. Aroma of fusels and raspberry esters. Medium sweet with syrupy, mushy mouthfeel,. No bitterness. Dominated by aceton and higher alcohols, which isn’t a good thing...
