Cask at Fountain, Macclesfield (not yet listed on RB). Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a minimal scummy cream head. Lactose and oats in the aroma, plus some hints of roasted malts. In the mouth it is sweet with a strongly creamy texture. Plenty of oats in the flavour, plus traces of dark fruits and vanilla. Later on there’s hints of cola and even some roasted malts ! Finish is fruity and slightly bitter. This is decent enough, but not enough stout characteristic for me.

500ml bottle from Beer Me Up Scotty, Shrewsbury. Pours black with thin off-white bubbly head. Aroma is light roasted malts and hops. Nice chocolate and dark malts in the taste becoming thinner as it progresses. Not bad.
