As it matures in the bottle, St Cuthbert becomes drier, allowing bitterness and alcoholic strength to come to the fore. A heady floral aroma is immediately apparent on pouring. Peachy fruit notes and a moderate bitterness linger on the palate long after enjoying a draught.

Bottle. Pours slitly hazy golden with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops, with notes of citrus and fruit. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with citric notes, touches of lemon peel and hints of grass. Bitter finish. A decent, unpretentious IPA.

Bottled 500ml @Beer Hunters
Slightly hazy golden-amber color, good creamy white head. Fruity hoppyness in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Grapefruity kind of grainy maltyness. Long lingering grapefruity aftertatse. English IPA with American twist.

Medium offwhite head doesn’t last. Slightly hazy amber body. Resiny orangey grape aroma with spicy notes. Dry-sweet spicy orangey taste with peppery grape notes .Mid-bodied. Mild, slightly hot mouthfeel. Dryish resiny orangey grape aftertaste with spicy notes. Lovely, drinkable, fresh. (0.5l bottle, from House of Trembling Madness, York.)

500ml Bottle - NIce golden copper body with a medium fluffy white head with a little retention and lacing. Lots of fruit in the aroma: passion fruit, grapefruit, citrus in general. Creamy palate with some noticeable carbonation. The flavour is a repeat of the aroma but with a nice bitter finish and quite prominent alcohol. Quite good.

500ml bottle from the Cheese & Wine Shop Darlington. Poured a clear golden orange amber colour, frothy fine white head and aroma of spicy citrus. Taste is malt caramel with pine and a citrusy note, through to a slightly woody light dry bitter finish. Medium bodied, high carbonation. Quite drinkable IPA.

Bottled. Deep goldeny orange colour with a small bubbly/fluffy head which leaves some lace. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, some spruce, sweet fruityness as well as some slight herbal notes. Flavour is rather similar with some resiny and nectary notes as well. Quite rich carbonation.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Amber with a thin white head; rather muted, gentle aroma, piney, citrus, and spicy; full bodied and hoppy from the start, quite spritzy in the mouth, with a rough, woody flavour; and a rather nettley finish.

Bottle at Delirium Café. Pours dark copper with a creamy 3 finger white head. Aroma is very floral/perfumey. Med body. Flavor is very floral with some light fruit. But it comes out bitter in the finish!!! To f------ die for. Brillliant ale!
