Blue & Black Eyes zal in de smaak vallen bij Stout-liefhebbers! Deze smaakvolle (Session) Milk Stout heeft door de Engelse roastmouten aroma’s van koffie en bittere chocolade. De toevoeging van blauwe bessen en bramen zorgt voor fruitigheid en een frisse afdronk. Door het lage alcoholpercentage van 4% en het gebruik van fruit en lactose is dit hét ideale bier voor de lente en zomer. Naam De naam Blue & Black Eyes verwijst naar het Spaanse spreekwoord: ‘Blue eyes say, love me or I die; black eyes say, love me or I kill thee’. Blue & Black Eyes is het perfecte huwelijk tussen chocolade en fruit. Blue verwijst naar de toevoeging van blauwe bessen en bramen. Black verwijst naar de chocolade en donkere kleur van deze Stout.

Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Aroma is dark malt, slight notes of lactose, with a hint of chocolate. Where are the promised berries? I get only a hint of ’em in the finish. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is light and weak. Not what I want from a berry-infused Milk Stout, disappointing.

Bottle. Almost black, opague. Malt and berries in the aroma. Thin. Malty sweetish, milky flavor with lots of blackberries. Tannines. Easy drinker when served cold.

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige aery head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: soft roast, alcohol touch, lots of fruits, metallic. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty roasted, bitter, fruity, some blueberries, slightly sweet, nice one! Aftertaste: more metallic notes, hoppy touch, fruity, roasted dry finish, bit hoppy.

Van tap tijdens Kannen en Kruiken festival Amersfoort. Wat roasted malts, beetje koffie, weinig smaak. (8-2017).

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate blueberry flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate berry finish.

Bottle via Secret Santa 2017. Thanks, Benzai. Pours virtually black from the bottle. A frothy and sticky tan head clings to the glass. Noticeable dairy and blackberry in the aroma, although overall quite subdued. Taste is mildly bitter to tart with the tartness picking up slightly at the finish. A sour berry note lingers afterwards on the tongue. Body is light to medium, texture slightly watery. Did not know what to think of this at first but grew to like it. A sessionable milk stout with a sour twist.
