Cask at the Gatehouse Tavern, Coventry on 26th October 2022. Copper with shallow off-white foam and full lacing. Mildly malty aroma. Plenty of caramel malt in-mouth with some berry fruits. Leafy hops and caramel malt dominate the finish. Medium bodied with a zingy mouthfeel.

Cask at source. A copper coloured pour with a loose beige head. Aroma is twiggy, woody bark, dried fruits. Flavour is composed of semi sweet. Biscuit, dried fruits, bark, cake, mineral. Palate is thin, light grains, decent cask condition. Ok.

Handpull cask at the Brunswick, Derby. Light copper, clear with a spotty off-white head. Malty aroma, not much else to detect. Taste is more complex with a crystal malt sweetness turning into a more balanced finish with a hint of bittering hop. Slight body, flat carbonation. Decent for a traditional bitter but little personality.

Cask at Brunswick, Derby Pours traditional copper “beer” colour with a slight haze and virtually no head. A nice balance of hops and malt in the nose. Some hops and hints of strawberry in the mouth, but mainly toffee and malts. Finish is biscuit malts. A nice traditional bitter.
