7% abv. Malted barley. A cousin to our India Double Porter, but fermented with lager yeast at low temperatures to smooth some of the rough edges. Another lager beer born out of the Coronavirus lockdown of 2020.

Black with solid light brown head. Dark roasted coffee, chocolate, qyite some citrussy hops and a bit of weedy notes, blackberries, blueberries, hazelnuts, earthy. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied, a bit creamy but still has some lager crispness. Nice.

330 ml bottle bought in Made in Little France, Islington, and drunk at home. Dark brown and translucent, with a beige head and a lot of lacing. Chocolate malts, a touch of milky coffee on the nose. The sweetness in the initial sip is overpowered by a gritty hop bitterness that characterises the flavour until the finish. More light coffee and chocolate in the aftertaste. Smooth body with soft to medium carbonation. I'd like a little more balance, but it's good.

Bottle at home picked up from Hop Of The Month. A dark black / brown coloured pour with a nice lasting mid tan head. Aroma is lovely dry roast, earthy, little ash, some dry pine in there as well. some fruit cake. Flavour is composed of rich dry earthy roast, campfire, woody piney hops, really clean and defined. Palate is rounded, medium bodied, mellow fine carbonation. Long lingering dry roast, little ash.

Bottle from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. A 7.1% version. Aroma has coffee and Ovaltine - I.e. malty chocolate. Underlying molasses. Dark and glossy. Foamy creamy beige head. Sour berries followed by bitter coffee and dark chocolate. Sugary sweetness and cream appear into the finish. Medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Average carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Highly drinkable.
