Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Gold with a thin off-white head; sulphurous, malty aroma; thin caramel malt flavour; harsh, dry, bitter finish. Not one of Marston’s best efforts.

Cask at the Prince Albert, Wall Heath. Pours orange witha medium head. Aroma is of some pithy orange. Not much to start, but with a low bitter orange finish. Could be a lot better.

Cask, gravity at The Bell Beer Festival, Adderbury, Nr Banbury, Oxon, 04.09.10 This poured golden with a light white bubbly head. I found the nose to be a little bit wheaty and then I noted that there is some malted wheat added to this. Some tangerine flavour in the mouth but very light and fruity, with a late fruity sourness, it’s quite refreshing but then sweetens up a bit, it’s fine. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0
