Cask 78 Ultimate Glasgow tasting afters pub crawl: Poured an amber with a tan color head. The aroma was hops and pine. The taste is balanced with a nice hop finish.

Bottle some point during RBESG 07. Really liked this and got so carried away drinking it took no notes, realised as i finshed it and scored only 3.6 ...dark copper ... sweet resiny pine nose .... thick dark hop resins ... little toffee ... sweet up front ... bitter linger 3.4

500 ml bottle. Golden body with a big off-white head. Aroma is dominated with baking yeast as Yngwie indicates (we are charring the same bottle). Flavor is harsh, sour, bitter (in a negative way) and the palate is watery. Short aftertaste. This could be infected, but then again I think a recognize some of these negative elements from previously sampled Pitfield beers. Especially after they started as a ecologic brewery. They seem to have a problem, what about quality control?

Bottle. It pours a clear, golden with a beige head and thatโ€™s the good part. It had an intense smell of baking yeast, and it dominated the flavor as well. Where the aroma also had horse-blanket and barnyard, the flavor at least had hops and malt, but finished with a heavy yeastiness and sourness. Medium mouthfeel. The bottle was not past BB-date, but it was horribly yeasty, so I am convinced something was wrong here, and judging from the other ratings, I would like to sample a good bottle sometime. (070427)

Bottle. Brownish/amber beer with a gentle head. The aroma is dry with a banana like fruitiness, and the flavour is fairly herbal and dry. Overall a disappointing beer.

Medium, off-white, creamy head with larger bubbles. Hazy brown body. Powerful orangey, medicinal hop aroma. Bitter, meaty taste of medicine and hints of oranges with faintly roasted flavours in the background. Considerable alcohol taste in the aftertaste. Also quite a bit of sweetness. Itโ€™s good, but not great. The medicine detracts a bit from it. A very strange beer. Historically interesting. (0.5l bottle, first from the Pitfield Street shop, second time from City Beverage Co, London.)

Dark amber color. Strange smell: compost (?). Full malt taste, quite high bitterness, an impression of composting grass, no hop aroma. The ending bitterness is very long.
It loses the unpleasant compost touch after a few minutes, but keeps a vegetables touch.

50cl bottle from Pitfield beer shop. Orange colour with thin lasting white head. Intense earthy hop nose with some citrus. Malt in mouth is sweetish but too dominated by hops which are acidic, astringent and overly aggressive. Bottle says you can mature the beer and I would suggest it as hops need to soften.
