Bottle from Geers. Pours hazy black with a lasting, thin, beige head. Aroma of toast, raisin, prune, star aniseed, milk chocolate, cashew, liquorice. Taste has sweet chocolate & prune with a subtle nutty back; spicy aniseed & liquorice battling with toasty, roasted maltiness. Dry, herbal hoppy finish, more spicy aniseed, toast & raisin, hefty surges of brown rum-like alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Imperial Stout with well-known Belgian aspects; a bit too spicy & 'crude' maybe, but there's something likeable about it.

Black with lasting fluffy head. Aroma and flavour have a lot of roasted malts. Slight coffee. Nicely bitter.

31st Jan 2020, International Beer Exchange, Pre-Brugge Bier Festival at De Bierboom. Sample from a bottle. Almost black bodies, tanned topping. Loads of boozy chocolate and coffee in both the aroma and taste, very pleasant all round.

Het Nest Dead Man Hand’s 10% This Russian Imperial Stout has a big umami savory character with lots of toasty malts and sharp dark chocolate notes. Medium bodied and fairly slick verging on velvety. The deep inky color has a thick rusty tan head. The taste is savory, roasty and in the finish even gives some nuttiness. This beer packs in the flavor and has hidden depths, that 10% is also well hidden. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Het Nest Dead Man's Hand ].Clear dark black brown colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, molasses, chocolate, moderate to heavy yeasty, belgium yeast, dark fruit - dried fruit, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, brown sugar, belgium yeast, dark malt, chocolate, dark fruit- dried fruit, light licorice. Flesje thuis gedeeld met Joep. Diep donkerbruin tot zwart bier met lichtbruin schuim. Aroma van koffie, drop en salmiak. Ook de smaak en de nasmaak is dropachtig.

33cl bottle. Bbe 09/2018. Poured pitch black with a thin brown head. Loaded with licorice, medicinal notes, roastedness and oat. Licorice in flavor, malts, oat, milk chocolate as well. Sweet but enjoyable.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een medium bruine schuimkraag. Het heeft een gebrande moutige smaak met hints van koffie.
