22 fl oz bottle, thanks to MaxxDaddy. Pours hazy orange with a fully diminished white head. Light orange fruity and oxidised. Oxidised flavour. Mild sweetness and light yeasty note. Wineous. Ends slight dusty and oxidised, but also with a mild spice no. Over the hill but nice to try.

Bottle, 750 ml; explodes out of the bottle, despite gentle opening; the smell of wine is all over the kitchen; eyes observed an orangey color with a thick head that remains for a long time, quite effervescent; smell: yeast, citrus, banana, coriander; taste: foamy, etheral, honeyed, despite its content the alcool is almost absent except for a little peppery presence in the aftertaste, the presence of spcies (coriander) can also be detected

750mL bottled consumed on 1/16/2006. Gentle, but firm pop as the cork comes out, signals life. Large head formed of countless tiny bubbles. Just an immense sea of bubbles rising quickly throughout a maize-golden body. Head is well-retained. Nose is overflowing with dusty yeast. Notes of vanilla blossoms, light corn, bits of white table sugar. Very dry. Flavor begins with luscious vanilla bean iced cream drizzled atop with honey. White pepper-like notes begin to dry the flavor, though the honey never lets up. The sweetness takes on a light chewy wheat dryness and along with the white pepperiness, you might call it a moist lemon poppyseed poundcake. There is a definite, (but intended?) alcohol dryness/warmth that sits lightly on the end, cleansing the sugary malt after every sip. Throughout, there is a little bit of cotton candy and powdered sugar, which always seems to be a product of age on Belgian beers on lees, not that I know that for sure, or know why. Uncanny resemblance to Vervifontaine Biere du fagnard blond (minus the brett). That same honey sweet malt and tight carbonation, with a rich, supple texture and a bit of powderiness. After breathing more, alcohol continues to be more emergent, followed by a dry yellow fruitskin note. Texture remains qutie riveting, dryness grows and it becomes quite the sipper, with just the right amount of sweet malt. Lacing is let behind in large quantity. Well-aged, to say the least. Something sure did "click" when the Strong Golden Ale met Unibroue.

Hazy blonde to gold with no head. Light spiced aroma, with bananas and cloves notes. In mouth, smooth even coriander and aniseed come out, with a rich and well balanced taste. Rich bodied. A beer that aged well. Enjoyed at YEHa!05 Christmas Party on Dec. 17th, 2005.

Noogfest A minimal head forms over this clear golden brew. The lace is quite good from this one. Dry fruit aroma and the flavor is sweet with light acidic notes. Well balanced.

OK so I was a couple years late celebrating the 10th anniversary, so what? Actually I am glad I waited. Pours a hazy dark yellow color with a thick white head with decent retention. Light lacing. The aroma has a nice mix of zesty spices, yeast, citrus and hops. Medium-bodied, with a nice peppery character. Yeast flavor in abundance, and as it warms the alcohol sneaks through. There is also a nice array of fruit and spice flavors. I liked the taste of this one a lot more than the 11. The finish is dry and spiced, with a touch of hops. Overall very good.

Well, the semester’s finally over and it’s time to open some of my better beers. Unibroue 10 is a damn impressive beer. Upon opening, banana, lemon, cracker, pepper and white grape piqued my olfactory interest. Very yeasty nose. Poured cloudy yellow-orange, with a dense, medium off-white head. Flavor is where this beer really shined. Smooth and soft, but nicely carbonated, the body yielded flavors of white grape (lots of white grape), banana, clove, lemon and cracker, blending a tart, fruity beginning and dry biscuit finish beautifully. I also picked up a bit of bubblegum before the finish. Hints of alcohol in the finish enhanced the mouthfeel, but this beer was incredibly soft for 10% ABV. Hits all the right notes. An outstanding beer.

Pale cloudy yellow gold, fizzy fading head. Nicely phenolic aroma, slightest hint of bubblegum but otherwise dominated by fresh sourdough, which is also strongly apparent in the flavor, with a mild coriander spiced wheaty finish. A hint of alcohol mixed with a general phenolic finish. Soft almost fruit character and body. Nicely light in body, while full in flavor and medium in complexity.

Since I smell honey, I have to describe it as honey-gold, totally hazy at the end; fine dense white head, fed by a constant fine perling of CO². Honey in the nose, very fine citrus (lemonblossom?), candi-sugar. Alchol, fusel alcohols and candi-sugar built up an explosive taste, full of fruity and yeasty overtones. Peaches on rhum. Earthy flavours at the finish. Well-bodied. Alcohol very obvious, warming. The aftertaste yields some hops. Excellent beer. It doesn't sparkle with one feature, it's not outrageous nor unique. It's just very, very good.
