500ml bottle from Darts Farm, Topsham. Pours clear-ish ruby towards dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: immediate off-putting sour note, dark berries, malt & caramel. Taste: light sweet & moderate bitter, that sour note is more prominent on the taste, also bread, caramel, toffee hints. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. I can't get past the sour notes, seems it's infected. BB4 30th Nov 2022

Draft at GBBF 2014 - London. Pours rich ruby with a creamy-frothy, light tan head. Decent stuff, with some lightly tangy berries and other fruits, mild brown bread, faint toffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Sweet finish with further toffee, berries. Good one.

Cask. Pours a dark and hazy orangey brown with an off-white head. The nose is rather exotic: overripe fruit and wood. Medium body, flat, notes of both dried and overripe fruit and wood with a lightly tart edge. Subdued bitterness. Quite exciting really. 160110

Sampled cask conditioned. Nut brown. Soft and gentle but very malty. Very fruity, but still dryish. A big, very goiod winter ale with a rather bitter finish.
