RBESG 2010, draught at Brasserie 4:20
Black color; creamy head. Strong aroma, of chocolate, raisins, leather, dust, sherry fino, alcohol. Good body strength; strong chocolate flavor, with sharp fruity and vinous cut, and then some leather and tobacco; light alcohol perception. The final is quite dynamic, with red wine and strong tobacco; the bitterness is not very high. Good.

Draft. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of dextrose, straw, chocolate, alcohol, and wood. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, wood, alcohol, dextrose, and grapes. Less dextrose feel over it and it loved it even more.

Draught @ RBESG10 in Brasserie 4:20, Via Portuense 82, Roma, Italy.Clear dark black color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, coffee, sweet malt, maderia, dried fruit, light wood, moderate alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted bitter, alcohol. Body is medium to full, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft. IMO to much ... [20100605]

On tap. RBESG Rome 2010. Pours black as the night, completely opaque with a light brown head. Fat aroma of hard roasted malts and dried fruits with a distinct impression from the Madeira barrel. Very full-bodied, hard roasted malt, ashes, a little smoke. Has a vaguely oxidized edge and a tart woody undertone - especially in the finish. A bit hard to digest! 060610

From tap at 4:20. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dense dextrose and overripe fruity madeira. Sweet, very very sweet. Fruity, dry phenolic and dark roasted malt. Lingering fruity and overripe fruity into a warming finish.

On tap at 4:20, RBESG Rome day 3. I believe this was one of the RBESG specials. Black colour, brown head. Aroma of alcohol, wine, oxidation, grapes, chocolate, hard roasted malts. Flavour is madeira wine, sherry, chocolate, hard roasted malts, light sour wine finish with coffee, bit of ash as well. Fullbodied. Didn’t really work for me.
