Black as night, with a frothy tan head, choco-coffee nose and a grainy, thinnish mouthfeel. Nice sweet roasted malt flavour with more chocolate and coffee, and some dark fruits too, with a decent bitterness in the finish

Can on 13th November 2020 from Caps and Taps, Kentish Town. Pours a deep solid sepia with deep tan foam initially thick soon diminishing to a film. Almost no lacing. Rich and intense chocolate roast malt aroma. Strong coffee and bitter chocolate in-mouth with nuances of citrus. Roasty finish with a touch of fresh cream over bitter chocolate, and a few lingering spices. Somewhat light of body with an engaging mouthfeel.

Third, cask ale at Head of Steam. Shared with Finn. Bubbles to the rim of the surface, scattered lacing, black in the glass. Promising aromas of nutty chocolate. Malt-driven flavours of nuts, cocoa, and a coffee touch to the ending. Slightly roasted. Nice. (Birmingham 03.02.2020).
