Cask handpull at The County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Nothing off here, but the aroma is very earthy and the flavour reminded me of licking the head of a safety match. Not great and to be honest I struggled to finish even a half of the pint I had ordered. Disappointing

Cask handpump at The Exchange, JDW, Banbury, Oxon, 22-03-10 Pours amber with a white head, good temperature and in fact this is in very good nick considering we’re in a JDW’s, (it’s not always this good) Some light wood smoke and malt on nose. In the mouth this is like a Nov 5th of my childhood, bonfires, wood smoke, charred potato skins, some creamy nuttiness, but there is also a bitterness, lovely stuff. A6 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Chestnut with a thin cream head; sweet malty flavour with lots of peaty smoke; leading to a dry and acrid finish. Much more a Rauchbier than an Irish Ale in my opiniion, and really not my cup of tea - one pint was more than enough.
