Bottle at home (Domus Birrae) - 07/10/12. Opaque murky brown with no head - does not look appealling! Sweet espresso coffee dominates the nose with a little background milk chocolate and malt. Taste follows nose a little nuttiness and again a sweet espresso flavour. Medium bodied with soft carbonation a little booze in the finish but a little on the thin side for 8%+. Drinkable but a bit disappointing overall.

A deep dark stout with a thick brown head. In aroma, lightly tingly chocolate, grassy notes, a bit of soy and dark plums. In mouth, a smooth licorice chocolate, very sweet, with molasses, light woody notes, sweet espresso, not bad, but not grand. Bieropholie import, BB August 2011.

Bottle: Poured a clear light brown color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light aromatic coffee and some light roasted malt. Taste is also a mix of light roasted malt with nice notes of aromatic coffee. Body is too thin for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Lacking complexity and body to complete with the great from this style.

RBESG 2010, bottle at Brasserie 4:20
Black color; small creamy head. Light, dusty coffee aroma. Some caramel flavor, sweetish, with coffee and a sourness that let me think about a light infection. Wrong.

Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a huge, but collapsing brown head - over carbonated. The aroma has notes of vinegar, lemon, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with an acidic edge and notes of coffee, roasted malt, and nuts, leading to a slightly acidic and roasted finish.

6th June 2010. Bottle at Brasserie 4:20. Cloudy dark brown beer. Light dry palate. Sourish dark malt which is also a little fruity. Finishes fairly dry. A bit messy.
