Not to be boastful, but we believe that all other ales pale in comparison to this Philadelphia favorite. Dry-hopped with an abundance of distinctive Simcoe hops, this straw-colored pale ale is more drinkable than bitter, more aromatic than aggressive.

Bottled. Pale amber colour with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruits, bread and some slight herbal notes. Flavour is nice fruityness, sweet malts, toffee and some slight caramel along with mild grassy and floral bitterness into the finish. Good thirst quencher.

Draft @ the brewery, 13 Oct 2012. Transparent gold with plenty of carbonation. Aroma is packed with citrus and cracker malt. Nice nose gets my expectations a bit high. Flavor is lightly malty with notes of hay and leads to a grassy bitterness. This would be a good beer for the beach or mowing the lawn.

Bottle at Mixto restaurant, Philly - 24/05/12. Clear light amber colour with a medium white head. Not a lot on the nose, pale malt and a little hops. Barley and malt in the taste, mild hops, a little citrus. Medium body and appropriate level of carbonation. Average.

22 oz hefe glass draft pour at the Jet Rock Bar and Grill in the Philadelphia airport. The pour is a hazed yellow golden with a foamy one inch white head. The aroma is decently fresh citrus and orange peel, some grass. The taste matches the nose, fresh citrus hop, touch of straw and grass, finishes with a bit of a toasted malt character. A yeasty fruitiness also appears in the finish as it warms a touch. The palate is light to medium bodied, unfiltered mouth feel, yeasty finish. Perhaps a bit watery in the end. Overall, thirst quenching Pale, worked good to kill some time at the airport.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 11/10/11
Aroma: The nose is mostly citrusy, with some orange, peach, and a little bit of pine
Appearance: It pours a golden-orange color with a big, thick, foamy, and lacy white head
Flavor: The taste is somewhat sweet, less citrusy then the nose, with a medium-heavy bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, its a little sticky, with a refreshing feel, and a clean, dry finish
Overall Impression: My 100th APA rating! I found this one to be a fairly solid pale ale. I enjoyed the make-up of it. It is fairly drinkable, though a little overly carbonated, and it has a nice dry finish to it. A solid example of the style.
