Shake off and wake up with our powerful and rich mocha porter, Red Eye Flight. It starts with our rich and roasty blend of seven malts, before adding in high-quality organic cacao and finishing off with a cold-infusion of Three Hills Coffee’s Sumatran coffee beans, roasted exactly to our specification. Crack one open to unleash a waft of fresh ground coffee aroma, followed by a smooth mouthfeel, and creamy toffee, coffee acidity, and bitter cocoa nib flavour.

On tap @Luppolo Station (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma beige media e persistente. Al naso note di mela verde, (acetaldeide) che copre ogni cosa, leggere note di caffè ed erbacee. In bocca va appena meglio, attacco dolce con finale appena amaro, ossidazione. Corpo medio, carbonazione soft. Non ci siamo.

0,33 flaske delt med Odd Gunnar og skibsrederen på TNBP, en hyggelig kveld sept-18: brunsvart med kort skum. Espresso, einer, furu, urter, en tur i skogen når det regner. Hint av tjære og aske. en karftig og god porter, men neppe å anbefale før man skal på rødøyeflyet (også kalt pysjamasflyet) kl. 0530.

Bottle. Color: Black, thin light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, intense mocha coffee. Taste: Roasted malt, over medium sweet, medium bitter. A lot of mocha, black and milk coffee, cocoa. Over medium body, soft carbonation. Very nice coffee Porter.

Coffee porter by this Scottish craft brewer, bottle at Kantien, Ghent. Moussy, pale yellow-tinged beige, creamy head with only a flat, grey veil in the middle, over a black beer with maroon brown edges. Aroma of a lot of cold black coffee and coffee grounds, toasted walnuts, beef stew, wet black chocolate bars, soggy tea bags, moist pipe tobacco, leather, bayleaf, veil stock, liquorice. Restrained raisin-y sweetishness in the onset (could have been more outspokenly sweet for me especially considering the use of demerara sugar), sourish roasted grains and a beef stock-like umami edge, medium carbonated with an oily, rounded and relatively thick mouthfeel, feels thicker than expected based on ABV. Smooth walnutty, black toast- and bitter chocolate-like maltiness, more bitter than sweet with a strong black coffee effect in the finish, a tad aromatic but more coming from roasted malts, pleasantly bittering in combination with a spicy, leafy hop bitterness; nutty flavours linger afterwards, hightlighted by a hint of warming, gin-like alcohol. Classically bitter porter with smoothly integrated coffee element, but I prefer coffee porters and stouts to be more delicately aromatic in the coffee department and that aspect was lacking a bit here; too much beef stock-like aromas as well for my liking. The full, pleasantly rounded body makes up for a lot, though I still fail to see how this ended up in RateBeer’s top 50 of porters, even if it is a very decent one…

Very good, tan to mossy head leaving shards of lace over black beer. Chocolate "coffee beans" , mocha. Roast, mineral, overbaked cookies, metalslug. Bitterish -roast at first, with lots of underlying malty sweetness; again coffee/chocolate/mocha. Mineral remains in place. Sugary impression gets stronger in time, certainly warming up, cane sugar, molasses. Spritzy carbonation; very creamy , near viscous MF, long-lasting flavours. Actually too sweet by half, certainly in the end. Easy on the sugar, please. 7/4/7/3/13

Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, fekete szín. Csokis, kávés, kakaós, aszalt gyümölcsös illat. Kissé édeskés, csokis, kávés, kakaóporos ízvilág, aszalt gyümölcsös aromákkal és egy picike karamellel. Közepesen testes, enyhén szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Nagyon finom, kiváló egyensúllyal rendelkező sör.
