Cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 1 January 2014. Poured a slightly hazy with a thin, loose white head and good lacing. Sweet aroma of honey, melon and chewy malt. Initial flavours of dry hops balanced with passion fruit and candy sugar. Very dry finish with bitter hop resin, unripe grapefruit and straw.

Cask at George, Croydon. It pours clear golden yellow with a small white head. The nose is fresh grapefruit, tangerine, light toast, dough and some underlying sweetness. The taste is crisp, bitter, grapefruit, tangerine rind, peppery, hint of soap, floral notes and a touch of astringency with dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Clean, crisp and damn bitter. Great stuff and the best thing to come of Everard’s!

Cask @ The Linen Hall, Enniskillen [081213]
Blonde, slight haze, frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma - Pithy grapefruit hop, grapefruit zest, some orenage, sweet fruity malt background, good aroma, not getting any sulphur here
Taste - Grapefruit pith, floral fragrant hops, slight sweet sponge cake mix, sweet citrus, dab of candy sugar, nice grapefruit zest, quite complex
Palate - Medium body, oily, sweet malts. Finish - lots of bitter grapefruit zest, sweet malt base
Overall - Decent flavours - nice citrus in here, easily the best Everard’s beer I’ve had

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A slightly hazy amber pour with a tight cream head; tropical fruit aroma mixed with a little sulphur; rich tropical fruit taste, with mango and pineapple; and a fresh fruity bitterness with some tart grapefruit providing a lengthy finish. A pretty good attempt at a US-style IPA.
