Cask at the Monk’s Retreat, Reading. Pale amber with a loose off-white head. Lovely light refreshing mouthfeel that dances on your tongue. Upfront flavours are great too- lemon and apricot and orange. There’s some pine bog cleaner lurking in the moderate bitterness behond which for me did the beer no favours. However that happy dancing mouthfeel returns to save the day, and the lovely fruity flavours linger delightfully in the aftertaste. Overall then this is pretty decent- flavoursome, tasty and refreshing- and Banks prove once again that they’re second only to Adnams in the Spoons collaboration stakes.

Cask. Smooth fresh beginning. The mainpart is a bit flat, nice floral hops with a nice citrus-taste, but not much more. The aftertaste is medium-long, fresh floral citrus hops with a grainy, not too deep background.

Cask at S Fowler & Co, Shanklin IOW during the Jolly Day, 24/08/14. Clear golden with moderately appointed off white spotting and edgework. Nose is peachy, tangerine, straw, light tropicana wash, pine notes. Taste comprises citric sherbets, light mango, orange pith, straw, pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with grassy hop bitterness. Solid sessioner - another decent collab from JDW and again from Banks’s!

Cask at the Crown Rivers (JDW), Heathrow T5. ABV 4.5% Amber with a loose white head; citrus aroma, with distinct notes of orange, lime and lemon zest; a bold citrus taste with a touch of dusty spice; and lingering juicy hops with a trace of biscuit. Really good.

Cask at S. Fowler & Co., Ryde during the IoW Jolly. It pours clear gold with a small white head. The nose is juicy, lemony citrus, sherbet, dankness, mild urine and tangerine. The taste is crisp, juicy, bitter-sweet, tropical fruits, sherbet, lemon, orange peel, straw and candy with a dry finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Crisp and crushable. Brilliant.
