Launched February 2023, this pale coloured sessionable bitter is in the "Northern" style, with spicy hedgerow and blackcurrant notes from the hops. The “Bawley” name comes from the traditional small fishing boats used in the Thames Estuary to bring back cockles and shrimp.

Bottle at home. A very traditional bitter with some sweet malts and bitter hops. Light on taste and mouthfeel but very acceptable. This would be much better on cask.

Isle Of Wight Holiday Beer#5. A third beer in Portsmouth. Traditional bitter in a traditional pub. Golden, hoppy-sweet over malty in this instance. Late mild bitterness does develop.

Gravity cask at Pig’s Ear 2024 - Hackney. Pours clear copper-gold with a small, frothy white topping. Light-medium sweet flavour with very faintly toasted grainy malts, nips of toffee, leafy-earthy hops. Light bodied with fine carbonation; nice condition. Balanced finish, some nutty notes, little British yeast, mellow leafy bitterness, toasted grains. Good, classic bitter.
