(Bottle) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with liquorice, caramel, strong black colour, dark rye bread and a touch of tar. Roasted, malty taste with notes of black coffee, dark rye bread, liquorice, cocoa and a generous piney bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with just a touch of sweetness. Alcohol well hidden. Interesting, very tasty and nice.

330ml Bottle - Dark brown, almost black, with a foamy tan head. Liquorice, fudge, hops and chocolate in the aroma. Hoppy taste with notes of liquorice, fudge, roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Reminds me of a black IPA.

Bottle. Heavy stuff! It’s all about roasted malt. Notes of dark chocolate, licorice and some herbs. Almost a little too bitter, without being much else, but still quite enyoable.

Bottle. Black with a nice, tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and licorice. The same in the taste. Not balanced, the finish was dry and a little bit harsh.

0.33l bottle courtesy of yngwie. Pours a black ale - suitable enough I guess - with a small and sidesticking lightly tanned head. Aroma is quite sweet with some dark caramel, dark malts, hops, and hints of chocolatepaper. Average carbonation, medium bodied and it has a heavy and oily mouthfeel. Strong flavors; burned toast, lots of licorice and burned malts. Deep dark caramel, spices and lots of nice and light bitter piny hops in the finish. Lasting dark licorice and caramel aftertaste. Quite a interesting little beer this.

Sweet, malty, roasted, stone, mineral, coffee taste. Dry, roasted, coffee bitter aftertaste. 33cl bottle, courtesy of and shared with Gnoff. Brune foncée, moka. Arôme de malt grillé, café et expresso, houblon et pin. Bière steinbier avec pas mal de caramel, sucré malté avec, bière légère et robuste avec un bon profile de malt grillé et surtout ce côté ’instant caramélisé’ le tout sur une fine amertume. Au final, une belle surprise pour un style qui n’est pas assez brassé.

Närmast kolsvart och ett högt beige skum. Alkoholburna dofter åt vermouthhållet, örtigt. Smakbilden liknar en svart IPA, men malten rundar inte av smakerna som förväntat. Ganska torr, örtbesk, malört och något tröttsam i längden.

Draft @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel aroma with hoppy hints. Roasted malty chocolate and weak licorice flavor with hoppy hints. Has a roasted malty chocoalte finish.
