Cask at the Gig House (JDW), Wokingham. Straw in colour with a thin snow white head; the aroma has English hops and some grain; the taste starts with a light citrus but then develops a full hoppy bitterness; leading to a pleasant conclusion with chewy, resinous, slightly sweet hops.

Cask. (ABV 4.5%). Slightly hazy pale amber colour with small beige head, that lasts for a while. Aroma is flowery and mild fruity hops along with some wooden hints. Flavour quite much the same with some grassy tones in the finish. Not much Xmas over it, unless it pretends to be Santa’s sweat or something.

Cask-conditioned at the Rising Sun, Frampton Cotterell, S Gloucestershire 14/12/08. ABV per the pump clip was 4.5%. Golden coloured with a short-lived white head. Aroma of apricots, pears and honey with some floral hops. Flavour was sweet, with biscuit malts, strawberries and more pears and some citrus hops in the finish. A bit of a surprise as a Christmas beer but ok.

(From old notes, cask at Pullman Bar on 2008-01-04) A bit hazy beer having a rather beautiful head. Very light body, feels a bit like dishwater with hops added in it. Hops appear clearly both in taste and nose. Also some sweetness in taste. Only connection to Christmas (if this is a Christmas beer in 1st place) is its name.

Cask gravity dispense at Blakes, Dover December 2004. Ruby colour with thinnish head. This ale has some good malt and not bad for a Christmas seasonal
