Combined Harvest is a unique combination of brewing worts, or extracts from a variety of cereals. Most premium ales are brewed only using malted barley, but this multigrained beer has a unique multigrain blend of malted barley, oats, rye and wheat. Grainy tasting with a delightful floral start and finish.

The commercial description on this one was a blast, but can’t be bothered to quote from it. Ogi’s. Poured a nicely full golden body with a small white head. Apricot juice/fruitcake aroma, grainy. The taste is light apricot struggling in a crappy yeastiness. Perfumey and I love the fruity touch, but it’s so spoiled by the yeastiness that I can’t take a liking to it. Ok but not ok.

Oct 2006: Very drinkable bottle of English Pale Ale. Pale bronze in colour, with a a tight almost white head, it looke the part. The blend of barley, wheat, oats and rye give it a sweet aroma, with hops just about winning the battle for top dog in the smelling stakes. Hops and fruit flavours fill your mouth, again a sweet taste, like the aroma, although, matliness also forces its way into the reckoning when mouthfeel and overall flavour is searched for. This will not be everyones idea of a classic English Pale Ale, far to sweet for most, but as a beer for drinking with friends, it is ideal. I like it very much.

(bottle) Clear, amber colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Present notes of caramel in the nose with subtle fruity notes. Sweet-bitter flavour, rather light bodied with a prickly carbonation. Mildly bready cara-malty taste with notes of popcorn; moderately dry, quite slim and mildly bitter hoppy finish with slightly sourish wheaty notes. Likeable, but not overly impressive. 08.IV.12

500ml bottle. Clear copper colour with small macropore white head. Unspecific grainy aroma. Not really delightful monotonous grainy taste, dry, sourish, weird.

Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium amber color with a medium sized soapy tan head that left decent lacing. The aroma was tangy pepper, wheat, bread and was a touch grainy. The flavor was tangy, dryish and somewhat bitter with a grainy wheat presence, faint pepper, citrus, bread and anise. The finish was medium length tangy, bready and grainy. Medium body. Ok.

Bottle, 12C. Golden amber with a small off-white head. Very grainy aroma - you can certainly pick up the oats and rye - with some flowers. Rather flat mouthfeel. Taste is very grainy and quite sweet. I’m not convinced the mixture of grains works and the bitterness struggles to peek out at the end.

bottle from the village shop in Colyton. Deep amber-golden colour, large off-white head. Grainy-sweet aroma. Full-bodied, slightly sweet multigrain malt flavours, hints of honey. Unusual but very nice.
