On the palate the initial sensation of warming is well contrasted by a dryness with a spiced, clean sharp after-taste which, despite the alcohol strength, immediately tempts us to drink a second glass. The attentive connoisseur will recognise an unusual but very pleasant note of amaretto.
As a table beer Toccadibò goes perfectly with white meat but just as well with richer dishes of game or fully matured cheeses. It is also irresistible with syrupy fruit tarts or almond macaroons.

375ml bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours blonde, with fine white foam. Aroma is slightly funky, grapes. Body is average, like carbonation. Taste is medium-high sweet, though with some final bitterness. Final is slightly longer then average.

0,75 bottle at Baccusardus in Villasimius (Italy), consumed at home. Cloudy orange color, irregular medium-low white foam with a decent retention. Nose: surprisingly rustic, malt leftovers, pollen, almonds, almonds cookiesy, honey royal jelly. Different and amazing. Mouth: balanced, really in style with a peculiar personality. I can spot caramel and cocoa notes, medium-high carbonation, warming abv, charming sweet (and frizzy finish). Complex and tasty!

Bottled (backlog). Golden colour with a mediumsized white head, which vanishes quite quickly. Aroma is fruity, spicy, mildly yeasty along with some alcohol and mild floral notes. Flavour is spices, some mild fruitiness, nice somewhat sweet malty body with a nice floral hoppiness in the finish.

Bottle at CGarvie tasting. It pours pale yellow with a small white head. The nose is sherbet, apple, sweet pear, orange and floral notes. The nose is quite light, sherbet, straw, apple, pear, honey and floral notes with a sweet finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. A bit light for the style and too sweet for my tastes.

Very hazy gold beer, good white head. Dry palate, crispy and airy. Mild minerals and mild banana ester. White pepper spice and a trace of soap. Thin creamy malt underneath. Okay.

Carried home from Italy, April 2009, where I bought it at Johnny’s Off License in Rome, and shared June 2011. Very nice, opaque bright orange color. A great looking beer. Big, rocky, pillow-like, white head. Light sweet with yeast, strong earthy quality with dirt and grass. Very light spice. A good beer.
