High fermentation, bottle refermentation. Brewed with five different malts, four of which are roasted. Black color, taste of toast and coffee but not too bitterness or sharp; a very distinctive beer, reserved for lovers of "stout".
Fermentation haute, refermentation bouteille.
Brassée avec cinq malts différents, dont quatre torréfiés. Couleur noire, gout de pain grillé et de café mais sans trop d'amertume ni d'acreté ; une bière très typée, réservée aux amateurs de "stout".

Bottle, 7%. Sweet fruity aroma, a bit of liquorice, some yeast. Cloudy dark brown colour. Small semi-stable brown head. The flavour is sweet and roasted. There is some yeast, but it is OK in this combination. Sweet and fruity aftertaste, good alcohol level to balance.

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet in Norway. Chilled down a bit before being poured twice into a haft pint glass (from London Drinker 08). Has got a beige to fawn coloured head that slowly fades away, atop of a deep, rosewood body. Quite inviting aroma of slightly roasted, sweet malts on an herbal dry backbone. Firm mouth-filling taste of dark and dried fruits like prunes, dark plums and a bit of apricot. Some yeasty hints beneath. Satisfying bittersweet ending. Medium bodied. Fits the season as a pleasing sipper on a cold winter afternoon up north (Tromsø, 23.01.2010).

Bottled. A murky brown beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma has notes of citrus, malt, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, nuts, and alcohol, leading to a dry alcohol finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.
