A beautiful reddish brown ale with a thick frothy brown head. In aroma, sweet dark fruits, molasses and light licorice, a bit musty. In mouth, sweet grassy malt with light dark fruits, watery and herbal, so-so.

Black body with a deep brown, extremely fizzy head that diminishes instantly - looks like a coke. Aroma not very well balanced - cloyingly sweet malt/liquorice aroma. Unbalanced, lightly bitter, heavily sweet flavour. Bit astringent. Based on the looks, it could possibly go for a porter, but it tastes really awfull, I would almost think I had a bad bottle.

Bottle from La Cave A Bulles. Opaque black beer with a brown head, short lived. Crisp palate but also quite smooth. Has a good carbonated bite for such a dark beer. Licoricey malt with a little caramel and just a vague undertone of something roasty. A little banana and peach tucked away in the mid. All comes together in this unusual and tasty crisp dark beer.

0.33l bottle. Pours a grumzy brown body, growing darker and darker down the bottle with a fluffy and light tanned fading head. Nose is dark, slightly roasted with black fruits and kind of earth-like. Really aggressive carbonation and medium bodied. Tastes are dominated by dark chocolate with with notes of dried fruit, weak hops, some old coffee and a slightly sour-woody note. This is my first French beer ever and I'm not disappointed.
