Warning! Early amateur rating! A crisp porter with good carbonation. Has a refreshing tangy sourness but is not bitter at all. Another good Mexican beer!

Bottle @ Brugmansia/Fonefan US Tasting, April 2010. Thanks a lot. Pours unclear dark brown with a small bubbly head. Nose and taste is dust and port. Very vinous nose. Slightly tart with a mild smokey note in the back, some coffee and again hints of cellar. Medium bodied, Ok

Bottle, 4.7%. Farty and sweet malt aroma. Cloudy very dark brown colour. Citric aroma, woody sourness. OK flavourful for the ABV, and not too bad.

Robust, savory aroma of roasted meat, light peat, and shallots. Dark mahogany, no head. Immediately noticeable lack of carbonation. Charred oak flavor, alternating astringency and bitterness. Slightly meaty finish. A solid porter with character.

500 ml blue "liqueur design" bottle, bought in Edinburgh. "Lote 00148". ABV is 4.7%. Black coloured beer, reddish brown in the highlights. Large to moderate tan head. Unusual aroma with notes of balsamic vinegar, dark fermenting fruits, ensilage, burnt rubber and glue, hints of chocolate and liquorice - good and not-so-good at the same time. The flavour is moderately roasty, fruity and acidic with distinct notes of smoke, hints of liquorice. The mouthfeel is a bit thin. Very far from being the best porter in the world, but worth a try.

Bottle, blue. (RBNAG 07) I wasn’t too optimistic considering it being Mexican, but it was far from bland or bad. There was a dark brown, clear pour, topped by a beige head, making it look quite sexy. The aroma was sweet malty and roasted, with a slightly sour touch, and that went for the flavor as well. Actually, the flavor was not as sweetish as the nose, and it had a wee rubbery touch, but it was quite nice. It had a medium to full body, slightly astringent in the mouth, and finished with a lasting roasted flavor. To sum it up, a pleasant surprise. (071103)
