750 ml. bottle shared by csbosox. 2007 Vintage. Pour is mostly clear brown copper with a thin off white head. Aroma is big wood, bourbon right away, some sweet caramel maltiness behind the wood and booze. Eventually as the nose opens, some mild alcohol is evident. Taste is big bourbon, big wood, and the caramel sweetness of the nose. Alcohol comes out a bit in the end, though it doesn’t detract too much from the overall flavor. Palate is medium, mouth coating, with a boozy hot finish. Kinda unrefined and too much alcohol heat for me. Thanks for sharing this one Chris.

From a bottle at the 2010 Indiana Winterfest. Poured a clear dark yellowish brown with a slight amber tint. There was minimal head. Aroma was full of grains, with a caramel and bourbon undertone. Flavor had a nice combination of of caramel, grain, cereal, biscuit and bourbon. The beer was nice and smooth.

Big thanks to GodOfThunder for the share of this tasty 2007 vintage!! It pours clear brown with copper edges and thin off white head. It has a rich juicy aroma starting with a little bit of oak then moving into oak, vanilla and a thin layer of thick chewy malty sweetness. The taste is similar starting with a pulse of thick syrupy sweetness then quickly becoming oak, bourbon and then some vanilla surfaces about midway. It ends with lingering smooth bourbon, oak notes and an echo of dark fruitiness.

cheers to Godofthunder for sharing this one. 2007 bottle. pours dark brown, thin beige head. aroma of bourbon, caramel, chocolate malts and roast. Found the overall aroma to be slightly under the palate which was filled with bourbon. taste, boozy, bourbon is all over this barley wine, some caramel and chocolate. Light to flat in carbonation this remains a well crafted beer.
